Running the numbers
Estimates the number of months remaining during which there is no need to prove that the defect already existed.
Nothing beats a textbook case to get started:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Months elapsed since delivery | 6 months |
| Presumption period (24 new, 12 used) | 24 months |
| Months of presumption remaining | 18 months |
24 months for a new or refurbished item, 12 months for a used item. Beyond that, the consumer must prove that the defect existed at the time of purchase. Indicative estimate, with no legal value.
